In celebration of International Day of the Girl 2021 with the theme “Digital Generation. Our Generation.,” WiTech and the Austrian Embassy Manila presented Girls STEM Academy, a two-day online ideathon aimed towards breaking gender stereotypes in STEM, drawing attention to the issues that women in STEM currently face, and promoting the access of women to STEM education and career opportunities. This event occurred on October 23 and 31, 2021, via Zoom.
DAY 1: STEMythbusters
The first day of Girls STEM Academy focused on breaking gender stereotypes in STEM and exposing the challenges that women face in the field.
Day 2: STEMpowerment
The second day of Girls STEM Academy focused on STEM education, career opportunities, and other ways to expand women’s pathways to STEM.
