Through WiTech Arizona, she hopes to help create opportunities for young women to find their passion in STEM and bridge the gender gap in the technology industry. She aspires to create a welcoming environment for young women to cast away any doubts, uncertainties, or stereotypes about women in technology.
As a young child, Sophia’s exposure to STEM at a young age helped her develop a passion for STEM and technology. She often attended open houses at her parents’ companies and loved exploring the labs. Grateful for her childhood experience, Sophia aspires to help increase exposure for young women. She is learning coding and hopes to pursue a career in technology in the future. Outside of STEM, Sophia enjoys playing the violin and is part of her high school’s Chamber Orchestra. She is also the President of her school district’s Peer Tutoring Organization and dedicates her afternoons to tutoring. Her other hobbies include reading and binge-watching dramas.
